Listed building consent for the temporary works limited to: (1) removal and disposal of the failed modern thatch from the roof; (2) temporary strengthening of the roof structure by doubling up 15no. rafters with 50 x 75mm softwood timbers, screwed together; (3) installation of a UV resistant waterproof membrane to the roof (Novia UV Façade Breather Membrane), secured with treated timber battens at 300mm centres; (4) temporary propping of the roof structure with 8no. timber legs and associated braces; and (5) recording and safe storage of any removed historic fabric where practicable. No permanent repairs or alterations are being pursued.
