T1 Elder - this tree has been completely overwhelmed by ivy, the weight of which, combined with the extended hot and dry summer, has meant at least a couple of limbs have failed in the canopy. In order to preserve the tree and ensure its longevity, we will remove all the ivy down to fence height and prune the canopy back to a strong structural framework. The exact dimensions of which cannot be determined until the ivy is removed and the extent of the damage assessed but an assumed reduction in height of 3m from 8m to 5m and an overall reduction in width of 3m from 6 m to 3m.
